Description
Amifru S (50/20 mg) Tablet is a combination of Spironolactone and Furosemide. It is used in the treatment of oedema (accumulation of excessive fluid in your body tissue) associated with secondary hyperaldosteronism (excessive production of a hormone by the adrenal gland), chronic congestive cardiac failure (inability of your heart to pump enough blood), and hepatic cirrhosis (scarring of the liver). It works by increasing the excretion of water and sodium through the urine. Amifru S (50/20 mg) Tablet shows common side effects such as diarrhoea, headache, stomach upset, loss of appetite, etc. These side effects usually subside with time. However, if they persist or worsen, consult your doctor for further assistance. Avoid driving vehicles or operating heavy machines while taking this medication as it can cause dizziness/drowsiness. Amifru S (50/20 mg) Tablet may be taken with or without food. Take the medication at the same time every day for ease of remembering. Avoid the consumption of alcohol during treatment with this medicine due to the increased risk of side effects. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting your doctor, as it can worsen your condition. Amifru S (50/20 mg) Tablet is not recommended if you are allergic to it or if you have hyperkalaemia (high blood potassium levels), or anuria (inability of your kidney to produce urine). Caution is required while taking the medicine if you have liver or kidney conditions, electrolyte imbalance, diabetes (increased blood sugar levels), hypoproteinaemia (abnormally low level of protein in the blood), or hypotension (abnormally low level of blood pressure). Amifru S (50/20 mg) Tablet is not recommended in children below 18 years of age. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Take the medicine with caution if you are 65 years of age or more.
