General warnings

Hypotension

Amdac 5 MG Tablet can cause symptomatic hypotension (low blood pressure) in patients with volume depletion or patients who are treated with high doses of diuretics (any substance that increases the production of urine). This medicine also affects the heart rate and heart contractions which can also lead to excessive lowering of blood pressure. It is important to correct these conditions before beginning treatment with this medicine.

Myocardial infarction or angina

Acute myocardial infarction is the medical name for a heart attack. A heart attack is a life-threatening condition that occurs when blood flow to the heart muscle is abruptly cut off, causing tissue damage. Amdac 5 MG Tablet should be used with caution in patients with coronary artery diseases, especially while starting the treatment or increasing the dose, since it may worsen the symptoms of myocardial infarction or angina. This medicine may weaken the heart contractions and slow down the heart rate which may further depress cardiac output and blood pressure. This can be detrimental to these patients. If this medicine is prescribed in such conditions, close heart function monitoring is required. Your doctor may adjust the dose also if required.

Liver impairment

Amdac 5 MG Tablet should be administered with caution in patients with an impaired kidney function as a diseased kidney will not eliminate the medicine completely and this can increase the risk of toxicity in the blood. If required, ask for dose adjustments or other alternative medicine.

Use in children

The safety and efficacy of Amdac 5 MG Tablet have not been established in patients below 6 years of age.
