How it works
Triprolidine works by blocking certain natural substances (histamines) responsible for causing an allergic reaction. Phenylephrine acts by reducing the swelling of the blood vessels in the nasal passages, making it easier to breathe. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough by decreasing cough centre activity in the brain. Guaifenesin reduces the thickness of mucus in the air passages; this makes it easier to cough up the mucus and clear the airways. Thus Ambrosol-D Syrup is effective in reducing dry cough.
