Description
AIRTAB FX TABLET is a combination medicine consisting of Montelukast and Fexofenadine. It is used to treat year-round symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, itching, etc. AIRTAB FX TABLET stops the activity of the chemical substance that causes allergic symptoms. AIRTAB FX TABLET shows some common side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, rash, weakness, headache, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist for a long time. Avoid using this medicine if you are allergic to it. Do not use AIRTAB FX TABLET in children below 12 years of age. AIRTAB FX TABLET can be taken with or without food. Your doctor will decide the dose based on your condition. Finish your entire course of treatment with AIRTAB FX TABLET, even if the condition gets better by taking few doses. Consult your doctor if you still feel unwell after completing your treatment course. AIRTAB FX TABLET has to be taken with caution if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems. Do not give your medicine to other people even if the symptoms appear similar. This medicine can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines while you are taking this tablet. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen drowsiness.

General warnings

Systemic eosinophilia

Do not use AIRTAB FX TABLET if you have a history of eosinophilia (a high level of white blood cells known as eosinophils in the blood), as it may worsen your allergic symptoms.

Behaviour and mood changes

AIRTAB FX TABLET may cause changes in behaviour and mood. Symptoms such as agitation, irritability, anxiety, unusual dreams, depression, suicidal thoughts, etc., should be reported to your doctor immediately.

Use in children

Do not use AIRTAB FX TABLET in children less than 12 years of age due to the lack of safety and efficacy data.

CNS depression

AIRTAB FX TABLET may cause mild to moderate CNS depression resulting in sleepiness, difficulty in concentrating, etc.

Driving or operating machinery

AIRTAB FX TABLET may cause dizziness. Do not drive vehicles or operate machines after taking this medicine.

Missed Dose

Try not to forget the dose of AIRTAB FX TABLET. If you forget to take a scheduled dose, take it immediately as soon as you remember. But, if it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose. Overdose of AIRTAB FX TABLET may cause symptoms like vomiting, thirst, headache, stomach pain, tiredness, dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness and tiredness. Seek emergency medical treatment or contact your doctor in case you suspect an overdose of this medicine.

Skin allergy test

AIRTAB FX TABLET may interfere with the results of skin allergy test. Hence, your doctor may advise you to discontinue the use of this medicine before undergoing this test.
Take AIRTAB FX TABLET with or without food. Avoid taking more doses than advised to get immediate relief. Do not stop taking the medicine before completing the treatment course. AIRTAB FX TABLET may make you drowsy or dizzy. Hence avoid driving or operating machines. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen drowsiness. Do not break, crush or chew the tablet. Keep the medicine out of reach of children and pets. Do not use it after the expiry date. Ensure that the unused medicine is disposed of properly. Your doctor may advise you to stop AIRTAB FX TABLET if a skin allergy test has to be done.

How it works
AIRTAB FX TABLET is a combination of Montelukast and fexofenadine, montelukast acts by blocking the response of certain specific chemicals called leukotrienes that cause allergic reactions like swelling in the airways and nose. Fexofenadine reduces the concentration of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic responses like watery eyes, sneezing and runny nose.
