Description
Actidol DP Tablet is a combination of Domperidone, Paracetamol, and Tramadol. It is a pain-relieving medicine that provides effective relief from moderate to severe pain and also acts as an anti-emetic (helps to treat symptoms of nausea and vomiting). Actidol DP Tablet may cause common side effects such as dryness of your mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, stomach pain, diarrhoea/constipation, mood changes, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or if they become severe. Actidol DP Tablet should be taken exactly as advised by your doctor. Take it at the same time every day for the ease of remembrance. Avoid discontinuing the treatment without consulting your doctor as it may cause withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, sleep disturbances, irritability, etc. To avoid these, gradual dose reduction is necessary under your doctor’s supervision. Actidol DP Tablet should be avoided if you are allergic to it. This medicine is not recommended in children below 12 years of age. Inform your doctor if you have heart, liver, kidney, stomach/intestinal problems, or seizures (fits) before taking this medicine. Close evaluation with respect to your current medicines is necessary to avoid any undesired side effects. If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding consult your doctor before taking this medication.

Allergy

Gastrointestinal disorders

Heart diseases

Actidol DP Tablet is not recommended if you have pre-existing heart problems such as heart failure (heart is unable to pump blood properly), prolonged QT interval (an abnormal heart rhythm) due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.

Severe liver impairment

Severe liver impairment is a condition of reduced liver function. Actidol DP Tablet is not recommended due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.

Acute alcohol intoxication

Acute alcohol intoxication, also known as alcohol poisoning is a condition in which you may experience disturbance in behaviour/mental function due to excess alcohol consumption. Actidol DP Tablet is not recommended due the increased risk of breathing problems and death.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO)

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO) are a class of medicines used to treat depression. Actidol DP Tablet is not recommended if you have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors within the last 14 days due to the increased risk of severe side effects.

Actidol DP Tablet may cause severe side effects in your foetus and hence this medicine is not recommended during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary. If you are pregnant, consult your doctor.

Breast-feeding

Actidol DP Tablet passes into breastmilk and may cause side effects in your infant. If you are breastfeeding, this medicine is not recommended.
General warnings

Addiction

Taking Actidol DP Tablet for a long time can lead to addiction. Inform your doctor if you experience any changes in mood or behaviour. Do not take it for a longer duration than prescribed by your doctor.

Use in Elderly

Actidol DP Tablet should be used with caution in elderly people due to the increased risk of heart rhythm problems.

Use in children

Actidol DP Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age due to a lack of safety and efficacy data.

Withdrawal symptoms

Prolonged use of Actidol DP Tablet may increase your risk of withdrawal symptoms (restlessness, sleep disturbances, irritability, agitation, anxiety, increased blood pressure, loss of appetite, etc) if you stop taking this medicine abruptly. Hence do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor. Your doctor will reduce the dose of this medicine slowly over a period of time to prevent any undesired effects.

Driving or Operating machinery

Actidol DP Tablet may cause drowsiness or dizziness. If you experience such symptoms, avoid driving or operating machines.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Actidol DP Tablet. Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose to compensate for a missed one.

Overdose

Do not take more dose than that is prescribed by your doctor. Contact your doctor in case of an overdose with Actidol DP Tablet.
