Description
Acenac MR Tablet is a combination of Aceclofenac, Paracetamol and Thiocolchicoside. This medicine is a painkiller that helps in relieving mild to moderate pain associated with muscle spasms such as lower back pain, neck pain, sprains/strains, etc. Acenac MR Tablet works by blocking the formation of certain chemical substances responsible for pain and swelling. It also blocks pain receptors in your brain that induce pain. This medicine is most effective when taken along with proper rest and physical therapy. Acenac MR Tablet has some common side effects such as are nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, loss of appetite, and diarrhoea. Seek a doctor's consultation if these side effects do not resolve with time or get worse. It is recommended not to use this medicine if you have been allergic to it. Acenac MR Tablet should be taken with food to avoid stomach irritation. Your doctor will advise you on the dose and duration of this medicine based on the severity of the pain. For the ease of remembering, take it at around the same time every day. Acenac MR Tablet should be used with caution if you have liver or a kidney disease. This medicine may increase the risk or worsen stomach ulcers and may cause bleeding, so use it with caution. Acenac MR Tablet can interact with other medications. To make sure this tablet is safe for you, share your entire medical history and the details of all medicines that you are taking with your doctor. Allergy

Kidney Disease

Acenac MR Tablet is not recommended for use if you are having kidney problems associated with the excessive use of painkillers.

Bleeding disorder

Acenac MR Tablet may cause stomach and intestinal bleeding and ulcers. Therefore, it is not recommended for use if you have stomach or intestinal bleeding or perforation disorders because it may worsen your condition.

General warnings

Acenac MR Tablet may interact with other medicines and may cause severe side effects. Driving or Operating machinery

Acenac MR Tablet may cause sleepiness or dizziness in some people. Avoid driving vehicles and operating machines after taking this medicine.

Use in women of childbearing potential

Women of childbearing potential should adopt appropriate means of contraception to avoid pregnancy during treatment with Acenac MR Tablet.

Liver/kidney Disease

Close monitoring of liver/kidney function may be required in liver/kidney impairment while taking Acenac MR Tablet due to increased risk factors.

Chronic Malnutrition

Malnutrition and fasting can increase the risk of Acenac MR Tablet toxicity. Dose adjustment is needed based on your body weight.

Use in Children

It is advisable not to give Acenac MR Tablet in children and adolescents below 16 years of age due to the lack of safety and efficacy of it.

Bleeding disorders

Acenac MR Tablet may interfere with blood clotting causing bleeding or bruising. Use it very cautiously in case of bleeding disorders.

Use in Elderly

Older people may have a higher risk of falling due to drowsiness and confusion as a result of using Acenac MR Tablet.

Missed Dose

If you have missed Acenac MR Tablet dose, make sure that you remember to take the next dose on time. Do not take two doses together to make up for a forgotten dose.

Overdose

Never take Acenac MR Tablet more than the prescribed dose. If you suspect that you have taken an overdose of this medicine, go to the emergency department of your local hospital.

How it works
Acenac MR Tablet is a combination of Aceclofenac, Paracetamol and Thiocolchicoside. Aceclofenac and Paracetamol inhibit the formation of certain natural substances which are responsible for causing pain and inflammation. Thiocolchicoside interacts with certain specific receptors in the central nervous system to prevent muscle contractions and relieves muscle spasms.
