4 Quin 0.5% Prefilled Syringe is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to prevent endophthalmitis after a cataract surgery. Endophthalmitis is the swelling inside the eye caused by a bacterial infection. It mainly affects the tissues or fluids inside the eyeball and its associated muscles, vessels, and nerves. 4 Quin 0.5% Prefilled Syringe kills or prevents the growth of bacteria causing the infection. It is effective against a large number of bacteria. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Side effects of 4 Quin 0.5% Prefilled Syringe are blurred vision, eye irritation or discomfort. These side effects are temporary and self-resolve quickly. It is only used to prevent infections that are caused by bacteria. This injection is administered in the hospital or clinical setting by a qualified healthcare professional at the end of cataract surgery.
