My son 4 yrs had nursing bottle carries., n his tooth were completely chipped off, so he to undergo pulpectomy, I explored several other dentists but none were convincing, so we landed up in Axiss Dental (Langford Town) where Dr.Rashmi Punhani started the treatment with great care n made my son very comfortable n she is amazing with kids n the procedure went very smoothly. Now I can see a very good smile on my son's face which was missing from past few months. Dr. Rashmi Punhani is indeed one of the best pedodontist I have come across.

We wanted to share our experience with the Dr Punhani. This could be an individual experience and in no way discredits the Dr from the stellar ratings and feedback she got in Practo. At the outset , let me say I have received excellent care from Axiss Bellandur on my tooth issues which was the primary reason why we decided to visit the same clinic for our kid. 2 permanent teeth started coming out behind my 6 year old daughter's 2 lower teeth ( central incisor ) . We were naturally worried since this is the first time we are seeing her new teeth starting to take shape and that too without her initial teeth falling off. We went for a check up with the pedodontist ( the Dr ) at Axiss Bellandur who promptly advised us to get the teeth extracted at the very earliest. Alongside , she also suggested we get a tooth filling done. We agreed for both and fixed the next appointment. On the second appointment, everything started great and we had total trust in the good Dr and the establishment she works for. The Dr did a great job explaining to our daughter on what she will be doing and we felt at ease. We started with the filling first. Our daughter who was alright all this time suddenly started screaming. The Dr tried to calm her down. My wife also tried to calm her down standing besides her. No luck ! the kid's screaming was not dying down. The Dr changed tactics and literally asked her to "SHUT YOUR MOUTH". My wife and I looked at each other thinking if we heard the good Dr right ? Yes , the Dr repeated "SHUT YOUR MOUTH\"s a couple of times and then proceeded to ask the parents to get out of the room. Nervously we got out of the room while leaving our daughter with the Dentist. We could hear further "SHUT YOUR MOUTH"s from outside and my worried wife had the presence of mind to get inside and asked the Dr to stop doing what she was doing. I was in a trance and didn't know how to react and I am sure the Dr was too. After explanations and counter explanations were given to this episode , we somehow filled the remaining work on the filling. The Dr suggested : 1) We tell her that our kid is sensitive and she needed to be more gentle 2) That our kid is adamant 3) A colleague of her's joined in saying the kid is pampered 4) She wanted us to be out of the room so that the kid stops crying and pleads for her parents to be back in the room. Her exact words and a little filmy I thought ! 5) To her credit , she apologized that we might have misjudged the situation and it was not her intention to harm the child in any way. We agreed its better we reschedule on the tooth extraction and parted ways. Today we went to a Kid's dental hospital (with an excellent Practo rating) . The Dr examined our daughter and suggested it's perfectly normal for the permanent lower teeth to come out and gave us a month's time for the initial teeth to fall out naturally. She seemed surprised we were advised to extract the teeth ASAP earlier. We were more than willing to give Dr Punhani the benefit of the doubt and that the fault for misbehaving was on the part of our daughter. But on getting this second opinion on the kid's tooth extraction begs these questions - 1) Why did the Dr advised teeth extraction at the earliest **** ** *** *** ****** ******** * 2) Why did we get a morality lecture on our kid's behavior at the clinic ? 3) Why Dr Punhani had to justify her behavior to confused parents ? Peace out, Manoj
