Director & Head of ENT and Cochlear Implant Surgery | Agrawal Hospital and Research Institute, Gwalior I am an ENT surgeon specialising in cochlear implants, otology, lateral skull base surgery, and facial nerve surgery, based at AHRI Gwalior — central India's leading centre for cochlear implantation. I started the cochlear implant programme at AHRI in 2008 and performed my first implant in 2009. Since then, I have completed over 400 cochlear implant surgeries — across all major implant platforms (Cochlear, Advanced Bionics, MED-EL, Neubio, Oticon) — with zero major surgical complications. I was the first independent ENT surgeon in central India to establish a cochlear implant programme, and the first Indian surgeon to receive the International Visiting Scholarship from the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS), Boston, 2010. My training has taken me to institutions across the UK (Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Queens Medical Centre Nottingham), USA (Tufts Medical Center Boston, UC Davis, House Ear Institute Los Angeles), Australia, the Netherlands (Leiden University Medical Center), Germany (Munich Hearing Implant Symposium), Indonesia, and Austria (MED-EL Surgical Academy). I have been an invited faculty member at AIIMS New Delhi, AIIMS Patna, SGPGI Lucknow, Nanavati Hospital Mumbai, DY Patil Medical College, Bundelkhand Medical College, and numerous national conferences including AOICON, NESCON, ISOCON, and MPENTCON. I have chaired sessions at international forums including the 2nd Coalition of Global Hearing Health Conference at the House Ear Institute, Los Angeles. I am the main author of "Temporal Bone — A Surgeon's Vision" (Jaypee Brothers, 2012), and have contributed chapters to Thieme's Atlas of Neurotology and Lateral Skull Base and Atlas of Facial Nerve Surgeries. My research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Cureus (Springer Nature) and the Indian Journal of Otolaryngology. I have mentored cochlear implant programmes at Fortis Hospital Vasant Kunj, Primus Hospital New Delhi, JNMCH Jabalpur, Vardhman Hospital Bhopal, and Guru Nanak Hospital Mumbai.
