Dr Soma Roy Sawle is a renowned ophthalmologist of Durg Bhilai Rajnandgaon region. She has done her MBBS form Pt. JNM Medical College Raipur , her DNB (equ to FRCS) from Chennai. She then did her Glaucoma & Phaco Fellowship from Nagpur .She did her Glaucoma Fellowship from ARAVIND EYE HOSPITAL Madurai. She has also done her Fellowship in Medical Retina from AEH Madurai.She has an experience of over 15 years in this region .She has done more than 10,000 Cataract Surgeries, more than 1000 Glaucoma Surgeries , more than 1000 Combined ( Cataract + Glaucoma) Surgeries thereby saving the patient from the trauma of 2 Surgeries .She has done more than 1000 Pterygium surgeries with autograft, More than 500 Yag lasers & more than 500 Retinal Lasers . She has Received Gold medal in Glaucoma for her paper Steroid induced glaucoma in 2013 CG State Conference.Received Gold Medal in Community Ophthalmology in 2007 C.G State Conference.She has represented her state in AIOS – Leadership Development Programme in 2013 -2014.She is presently the Clinical Secretary of Durg-Bhilai Divisional Ophthalmic Society.She has presented various papers in State and National Conferences.
