Ms. Safa Fawaz Dababat is a skilled Ocularist in the Department of Ocular Prosthetics at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Optometry from the An-Najah National University, Palestine and a Diploma in Ophthalmic Prostheses from the American International Institute of Training and Accreditation, Istanbul, Turkey. She has undergone a training course in Optics Science at the Center of Consultations and Training, University of Jordan and a Skill Development Programme for Ocularists at Vision Medical for Artificial Eyes, Istanbul, Turkey.Ms. Dababat started her career as an Optometrist, assessing, diagnosing, and conducting comprehensive eye examinations at Soboh Optics Center, Nablus, Palestine. Here, she specialised in creating and fitting custom prosthetic eyes, with a focus on patient comfort, functionality and aesthetic outcomes. She then joined Vision Medical for Artificial Eyes, in Istanbul, Turkey as an Ocularist. Subsequently, she relocated to the UAE to work as an Ocularist at Orbit Eye Center, Dubai.Ms. Dababat is an ocularist with a proven proficiency in the entire spectrum of artificial eye creation and fitting. Her expertise spans from precision eye impression capture to intricate hand-painted iris detailing, utilizing advanced techniques in crafting ocular prosthetics with heat cure acrylic (PMMA), culminating in meticulous polishing and seamless installation. Well-versed in employing state-of-the-art equipment, specialized tools, and premium materials to craft personalized artificial eyes. She is a proud member of Vision Medical for Artificial Eyes in Istanbul, Turkey. She prescribes corrective lenses including glazing and fitting them, conducts eye examinations (objective & subjective refraction, binocular vision tests), crafts and fits customized artificial eyes and ocular shells and hand-paints irises to achieve natural aesthetics. She provides patient consultations, adjustments, and follow-ups, designs and fits personalized prosthetic eyes, and polishes and finishes ocular prostheses.
