Dr. Venkata Subba Reddy Elicherla is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Discovery Gardens and JBR branches of Medcare Medical Centre. He completed his MBBS from Kurnool Medical College in India and then obtained a Post-graduate degree in Orthopaedics on passing his DNB examination. His pursuit of excellence and dedication to his chosen field is reflected in the various degrees that he has obtained. He is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS), England, an MCh in Orthopedics (USAIM) and a Fellow in Joint replacement and specialisation in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy.He is a member of the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA), the Indian Arthroscopic Association (IAA) and the Arthroscopic Association of North America (AANA), and is an Associate SICOT member.With expertise in arthroplasty and arthroscopic surgeries, Dr. Elicherla has spent more than a decade working in India and the United Arab Emirates. He has performed over 1000 surgeries in the field of Orthopaedic trauma, joint replacement and sports medicine. During the nascency of his career, he worked in Hyderabad, India as a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon before relocating to the Middle East.In Dubai, he joined Burjeel Hospital as a Specialist Orthopaedic and Clinical Fellow in Sports Medicine. Subsequently, he practised as a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Lifecare Hospital Abudhabi and again at Burjeel Hospital in Dubai. He also worked as a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Health Hub Clinic, Al Futtaim and International Modern Hospital.Dr. Elicherla has successfully treated sports injuries, fractures, gout, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, spine issues like back and neck pain, shoulder diseases like impingement syndrome, frozen shoulder and rotator cuff, and labral tears.He performs arthroscopic surgeries of knee and shoulder ligaments, adult reconstructive surgeries including osteotomies, knee and hip replacements, meniscus surgeries, ACL reconstruction, shoulder rotator cuff and bankarts surgeries and uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection therapy.Dr. Elicherla is very active in his field and has presented papers in international conferences and publications. During his free time, he likes travelling, playing cricket and tennis, and watching movies. He speaks English, Hindi, Telugu and Urdu.
