Dr. Sakina Farhat

Dr. Sakina Farhat is a Consultant in Gastroenterology at the Medcare Hospital, Al Safa. She completed her medical studies in India before moving to the U.S. She obtained an MD in Internal Medicine from the North Shore University Hospital and another MD from the State University of New York, both located in New York. Dr. Farhat’s impressive credentials include a Board Certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (ASSLD) and the American College of Physicians (ACP). During her illustrious career as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, she practised in the U.S and then in various multi-speciality hospitals in UAE. Dr. Farhat consistently delivers quality health care to her patients that endear her to them. She has successfully treated gastroesophageal reflux disease and food intolerance, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), haemorrhoids and anorectal disorders, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) including the management of constipation, and diarrhoea. She is adept at gastric and colorectal cancer diagnosis and screening as well as fatty liver management through FibroScan. She has dealt with serious conditions like Celiac disease, pancreatic disease, colorectal cancer and colon polyps, diverticular disease, oesophageal disorders, anaemia and gastrointestinal bleeding disorders.Dr. Farhat is passionate about integrating healthcare and clinical research as she believes in the use of personalized medicine based on evidence. She has many interests like calligraphy, writing, cycling, and painting besides a love for travelling, and photography which she pursues in her free time. She speaks English and Hindi fluently.
