Dr. Sabah Alarnout

Dr. Sabah Al Arnaout, a renowned General Surgeon, currently works as a Consultant in the Department of General Surgery at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. He holds an MBChB and a Master’s in General Surgery from Iraq. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), Glasgow. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow and Ireland. He is a certified Physician in Advanced Trauma Life Support from McMaster University in Canada.Dr. Arnaout has more than three decades of experience in general and laparoscopic surgery. His career spans across various locations, including Canada, Dubai and Iraq. He spent some time working as a General Surgeon at Rashid Hospital and Trauma Centre and at the Al Zahra Hospital, both in Dubai. He participates in international conferences and seminars and keeps himself updated with the latest developments in the field of surgery. He has worked earlier at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Hospital in Canada and have worked as a lecturer at the Dubai Medical College for 10 years.His area of expertise covers endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery and breast surgery, hernia surgery, conventional colorectal surgery, stomach and small bowel and large bowel resection, surgical and laparoscopic repair of varieties of hernia, skin and soft tissue tumours surgery, anal surgery like Haemorrhoidectomy (THD), Laser Harmorrhoidectomy, Banding of Haemorrhoid, anal fissures, peri-anal fistula, peri-anal abscess, abdominal and chest trauma and polytrauma cases, hand surgery, vascular surgery,. Dr. Arnaout is especially interested in laparoscopic procedures involving intestinal adhesiolysis, peritoneal and mesenteric lymph node biopsy, ovarian cystectomy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, repair of ventral hernia, umbilical hernia, para-umbilical hernias and inguinal hernias. He is proficient in the treatment of conditions that include varicose veins, obesity, problems in the pancreas and gallbladder, gastrointestinal disease, dermatological issues, haemorrhoids and fissures. He also performs splenectomy, salivary gland surgery, and anastomosis, advanced wound care of diabetic foot and pressure sores using negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) and VAC, ischemic limb amputation (above knee, below knee, trans ankle, trans metatarsal) with posterior muscular or skin flap.During his spare time, he enjoys reading a good book and taking part in sporting activities.
