Dr. Rawan Abdel Rahman

Dr. Rawan Ibrahim Abdel Rahman is a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Medcare Medical Centre. She is an Associate of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG). She completed her MBBS at the University of Sharjah and did her internship at Al Qassimi Hospital & Kuwaiti Hospital, under the Ministry of Health. She holds an MD in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, which is an Arab Board Certification.Dr. Rahman began her career as a Clinical Tutor at the University of Sharjah and then became a Resident Physician under the Dubai Residency Training Programme in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She worked for some time as an Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialist at the Emirates Jumeirah Hospital and the Prime Medical Centre before joining Medcare.Dr. Rahman’s expertise covers the entire gamut of obstetrics and gynaecological disorders, including antenatal care and high-risk pregnancy management, normal and assisted vaginal delivery, Caesarean section, obstetric emergencies like PPH, eclampsia and shoulder dystocia, family planning and contraception counselling, menstrual disorders, gynaecologic infections, colposcopy and cervical pathology, emergency gynaecologic surgery, sepsis and preeclampsia management. She treats heavy menstrual bleeding, painful periods, irregular periods, PMS, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), adenomyosis, cervicitis, abnormal Pap smear findings, endometrial hyperplasia, vaginitis (bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, trichomoniasis), Bartholin's cyst or abscess and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
