Dr. Mehmood Butt is the Head of the Cardiovascular Department, a UK-trained Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at King’s College Hospital Dubai, Professor of Cardiology at Gulf Medical University (UAE), and Clinical Professor of Preventive Cardiology at the University of South Wales (UK).Dr. Mehmood received his postgraduate training in Birmingham, South Wales, and Oxford in the UK. He is a UK-trained specialist, certified by the General Medical Council in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology. With nearly 25 years of experience in cardiac disease management, he has worked at world-renowned hospitals such as John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and University Hospital Wales in Cardiff. Having performed thousands of heart procedures throughout his career, he has a special interest in treating patients with multiple blockages, severe calcification of coronary arteries, patients who decline bypass surgery, those seeking stent options, and patients who are too high-risk for cardiac surgery. Dr. Mehmood is one of the leading experts in the UAE in advanced techniques such as Coronary Shockwave Therapy and Orbital Atherectomy.
