Dr. Maysarah Alawneh

Dr Alawneh, an internationally-recognised expert, has over a decade of experience in obstetrics and fetal maternal medicine in the UK, USA, and UAE. He holds certification from the Fetal Medicine Foundation, UK, where he underwent extensive clinical and research training in fetal medicine under the guidance of esteemed Professor Kypros Nicholaides at King’s College London. Furthering his expertise, he completed a fellowship in Fetal Maternal Medicine at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia, USA.His notable achievements include establishing the Fetal Maternal Medicine Department at Emirates Hospitals Group, which included implementing a pregnancy surveillance program, greatly improving the outcomes for both mother and baby at the hospital. This department was orchestrated to closely cooperate with the obstetricians, neonatal, and paediatric surgery departments, facilitating a seamless care pathway. Dr Alawneh provides comprehensive antenatal care and specialises in managing multiple pregnancies and the counselling and care of complicated pregnancies, including preterm deliveries, pre-eclampsia, and mothers with diabetes. He has a large skill set in prenatal ultrasounds, including Down syndrome screening, anomaly scans, fetal growth, Doppler scans, and prenatal genetic diagnosis (CVS and Amniocentesis).He is an avid contributor to clinical research, with multiple published papers and abstracts, primarily focusing on preterm labour.
