Dr. Karthikraj Kuberakani

Dr. Karthikraj Kuberakani is a Specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. He completed his MBBS and MS in Orthopaedics from the Rajiv Gandhi College of Health Sciences in India. He holds a Diplomate National Board in Orthopaedics and has an MCH in Trauma and Orthopaedics from the University of Edinburgh, a SICOT Diploma in Orthopaedics from Canada and a PG Diploma in Sports Medicine from the UK. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (FRSM), UK and a Shoulder, Knee & Arthroscopy Fellow from Australia, Japan, Canada and France.Dr.Kuberakani is a member of many prestigious international institutes like the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), the AO Trauma, the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) and the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT). He is also a member of many Indian associations including the Indian Arthroscopy Society(IAS), the Shoulder & Elbow Society of India(SESI), the Tamil Nadu Arthroscopy Society(TNAS), the Indian Orthopaedic Association(IOA), the Tamil Nadu Orthopaedic Association(TNOA), the Karnataka Orthopaedic Association(KAO) and the Tamil Nadu Medical Council(TNMC).Dr. Kuberakani commenced his career in Orthopaedics at Coimbatore in India, which is known as the ‘Mecca of Orthopaedic Surgery’. While he practised at his own hospital, he was a visiting consultant at most of the well-known Corporate hospitals in Coimbatore for many years. He was a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon & Managing Director at Devi Hospital, Coimbatore, India. Subsequently, he moved the UAE as a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon at ASTER DM Health Care, Dubai. Having been trained under some of the best surgeons across the globe, like Prof. Eiji Itoi from Japan, Dr. Laurent Lafosse from France, Prof.Greg Bain from Australia and Prof.Pascal Boileau from France, he is considered to be a seasoned sports surgeon.He specialises in sports arthroscopic surgeries with a special interest in shoulder surgeries, especially complex robotic and navigation-assisted joint replacement surgeries of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. He has successfully treated conditions of the shoulder like recurrent and traumatic dislocations, Bankart’s labral tear or slap tear and instabilities, Rotator cuff tear, shoulder arthritis, AC joint pathologies, knee sports injuries, ACL and PCL multi-ligament knee injury, knee meniscal tears and root tears, cartilage injury, knee arthritis, degenerative shoulder, hip and knee pathologies as well as sports injuries. He uses the latest techniques like stem cell therapy, OATS procedure and cartilage transplantation as well as robotic-assisted joint replacements.
