Dr. Jubair Poovankavil

Dr. Jubair Poovankavil is a Specialist in Paediatrics at Medcare Medical Centres. He completed his MBBS from the Government Medical College, Kannur and a Diploma in child Health and Paediatrics from the Government Medical College, Kozhikode, both in India. He holds a certification from the European Board of Paediatrics. He is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH), UK and the Indian Academy of Paediatrics.Dr. Poovankavil is a skilled Paediatrician who has worked for over a decade in India and the UAE. He commenced his career as a Junior Resident in the Department of Paediatrics at the Government Medical College, Kozhikode. He later became a Paediatrician with the Government Health Services in Kerala, India. After moving to the UAE, he joined the Saudi German Hospital, in Dubai as Paediatric Registrar. This was followed by stints as a Paediatric GP & Specialist Paediatrician at Al Zahra Private Hospital and as a Specialist Paediatrician at Mediclinic City Hospital, both in Dubai. His expertise covers the entire gamut of General Paediatrics including acute paediatric medicine, Paediatric Advanced Life Support, neonatal resuscitation, newborn follow-up, paediatric immunisation and management of infectious diseases. He proficiently treats acute upper and lower respiratory infections, paediatric diarrhoea, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, paediatric asthma, neonatal jaundice, fever in children, chronic constipation and abdominal pain, anaemia and other nutritional deficiencies, short stature and urinary tract infection. He also performs Growth and Development Assessments and Vaccinations.When he’s free from work, he enjoys swimming and reading. He has a smattering of Arabic and speaks Hindi, English and Malayalam fluently.
