Dr. Hanan Kandil

Dr. Hanan Mahmoud Kandil is a Specialist in the Psychiatry Department of Medcare Hospital - Sharjah. She completed her MBBS from the Faculty of Medicine in Alexandria, Egypt and obtained a Master's Degree in Psychiatry and Neurology from Alexandria University in Egypt. She is a trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) from Alexandria Students University Hospital, Egypt and a trained Couple Therapist from Couples Institute, California, USA. She has also completed a Masters in PsychoPharmacology Program from Neuroscience Education Institute, California, USA. She is a member of the Egyptian Psychiatric Association and the Neuroscience Education Institute.Dr. Hanan started her career as a Resident Psychiatrist at Alexandria University Hospital, Egypt and then continued as a Specialist Psychiatrist at the same Hospital. After nearly a decade she relocated to the UAE, where she joined Zulekha Hospital, Sharjah and Dubai as a Specialist Psychiatrist. She has been working for several years with mentally- ill patients using both medications and psychotherapy. She uses techniques that make her patients' role in therapy, an active one by helping them realise their potential. She believes in creating a respectful and collaborative relationship with her patients. This according to her is the key to working through difficulties and creating a positive change.
