Dr. Emad Badawy

Dr. Emad Mahmoud Badawy is a Specialist in the Department of Ophthalmology at Medcare Eye Centre – Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery and Master’s degree in Ophthalmology from the oldest and most renowned Kasr Al Ainy School of Medicine at Cairo University, Egypt. He holds a post-graduate Diploma from Georgetown University, Washington DC, and a PhD in Ophthalmology from Al Azhar University in Egypt. Dr. Badawy has a Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons FRCS, Glasgow, United Kingdom.Dr. Badawy has spent 21 years as a General Ophthalmologist practising at renowned hospitals and centres across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE. His illustrious and successful career included many years as a Refractive Surgery instructor in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman and Yemen. As an extremely capable and highly qualified ophthalmologist, Dr. Badawy is much in demand for conducting refractive surgery that covers procedures like SMILE, Femto-LASIK, LASIK, SBK, LASEK, PRK and PTK. He has conducted surgery of the cornea using procedures like Intra-stromal corneal ring segments (ICRS) and corneal cross-linking. Other procedures used by Dr. Badawy include probing and syringing of the lacrimal system to control the watering of the eyes and using Punctal plugs for treating dry eyes. He has effectively treated conditions like Pterygium and Chalazion, corneal and ocular surface diseases, and general ophthalmic diseases like cataract, glaucoma, retinal diseases.
