Dr. Zahra Anwarahmad

Dr. Zahra Anwar-Ahmad is a Consultant in the Department of Family Medicine at the Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her MBBS from the well-known Guy's, Kings, St. Thomas' (GKT) School of Medical Education, UK and her specialist training from the East of England. She has a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) from the UK and is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP). She continues to be a member of the General Medical Council (UK) and the British Medical Association (UK).Since graduating, Dr. Anwar-Ahmad spent a decade working in a variety of hospitals in London, garnering invaluable experience in all facets of Family Medicine. She worked as a General Practitioner (GP) at the Witham Health Centre and as a Registrar at the Whitley House Surgery. After relocating to the UAE she spent time as a Consulting Physician at Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital and then at Mediclinic Meadows, Dubai. She is passionate about Family Medicine and believes in the continuity of care and placing the patient’s needs first. She keeps up-to-date with recent medical advances and guidelines which is the foundation of good evidence-based practice.Dr. Anwar-Ahmad believes in chronic disease management and medication reviews and has successfully treated diabetes, thyroid, common endocrinological, ENT, eye problems, dermatological, musculoskeletal and rheumatological diseases. She is proficient in treating various cardiovascular, respiratory, gastroenterological and genitourinary conditions. She is an expert in the management of mental health, child health, women's health, family planning, breast concerns, cancer screening and sexual health. She believes in preventive medicine, travel health, administering vaccinations and conducting health checks. She spends her free time reading about the latest developments in her chosen field of medicine and keeps herself abreast with new techniques. She speaks English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
