Dr. Yashar Abdulkader

Dr. Yashar Abdulkader is a reputed Specialist General Surgeon at Medcare Medical Centre. He obtained his MBChB from Mosul University Medical College and then went on to study for a High Diploma in General Surgery (DGS) from Baghdad University Medical College, both in Iraq. He holds a Certification from the Arab Board of General Surgery (CABS) from Medical City Teaching Hospital, Baghdad, Iraq. He is a member of the Iraqi Medical Association (IMA), the Iraqi Surgical Association (ISA), the International Iraqi Medical Association (IIMA), and the Iraqi Medical Association of USA (IMSA).Dr. Abdulkader has spent more than a decade in the field of General Surgery as a Specialist, a Consultant and a General Surgeon at Government and private hospitals in Iraq, Turkey and the UAE. He has been the Head of the Endoscopy unit, the Head of the Emergency Department and the Head of General Surgery Department at several renowned hospitals. He has held prestigious positions throughout his career; he has been on the Board of Directors at Kirkuk General Hospital in Iraq, the Dar AL-Hikma Private Hospital and the Canadian Specialist Hospitals, UAE. Initially, he worked at Kirkuk General Hospital in Iraq and was the Head of the Board of Directors at the Dar AL-Hikma Private Hospital. He was affiliated with the Canadian Specialist Hospital as the MD and General Surgeon before joining Medcare.Dr. Abdulkader’s expertise covers andrology, bariatric surgery, and general surgery procedures, including minor, major and GIT endoscopies. He carries out all wound sutures, wound debridement, abscess drainage, FNA plus biopsy, excision for skin and subcutaneous mass and laparotomy for all acute surgical conditions. He repairs all types of hernia and performs thyroid and parathyroid surgeries, thyroidectomies, cholecystectomies, appendectomies, breast surgeries, hepatic biliary surgeries, gastrointestinal surgeries, ano-rectal surgeries, and urologic surgeries like renal, ureter, urinary bladder, prostate and testes. He also does diagnostic upper and lower GIT endoscopies. Patients come to him for scar removal, breast screening, fine needle aspiration, lumpectomy, biopsy, breast abscess, and follow-up post-mastectomy.
