Dr. Waleed Alomar

Dr. Waleed Alomar is a skilled and experienced Specialist in the field of Psychiatry. He completed his basic medical education in Syria followed by an MSc in Psychiatry from the Damascus University in Syria.Dr. Waleed has spent more than a decade treating conditions related to adult psychiatry, child psychiatry and old age psychiatry. He commenced his interesting career as a Resident Physician of Psychiatry at the Almouasat and Alasad Damascus University Hospital located in Damascus, Syria. After this, he spent a couple of years as a Supervisor Psychiatrist at the Syrian Association of Autism followed by a stint as a Specialist in Psychiatry at a private hospital (OPD-inpatient) in Homs, Syria. He then moved to Kuwait where he worked at the Kuwait Center for Mental Health (KCMH) as a Specialist in Psychiatry. He subsequently worked in the UAE in a similar capacity at the Kuwait Hospital and Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah.Dr. Waleed manages a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions related to adults, children and the elderly. He has successfully treated disorders like depression, bipolar, anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD), PTSD, feeding and eating disorders, and sleep disorders. He treats children with autism, intellectual disability and ADHD. He is proficient in managing Schizophrenia Spectrum disorders, neurocognitive disorders like Dementia, substance-induced psychiatric disorders, psychiatric disorders due to other medical conditions, and Postpartum Depression. He uses the latest techniques in his field including ECT sessions to treat his patients and also participates in multi-disciplinary protocols for patient psychiatric assessment before surgery.During his leisure hours, he likes to keep fit by playing football and other sports. He enjoys reading too and speaks Arabic and English.
