Dr. Simon Rubidge

Dr. Simon Rubidge is Consultant Psychiatrist at ACPN. He completed his postgraduate training at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa in 2003 and remains a licensed psychiatrist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and is a member of the College of Psychiatrists of South Africa. Dr. Rubidge is also a fully registered medical practitioner with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the United Kingdom. He obtained his medical degree (MBChB) in 1992 at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.Dr. Rubidge worked for thirteen years as a psychiatrist in private practice in Somerset West, South Africa seeing adults with mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety. Before moving to Dubai in 2023, Dr. Rubidge worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland for more than six years in both outpatient and inpatient settings.Dr. Rubidge has extensive clinical experience working in both the public and private healthcare sectors. As a general adult psychiatrist, Dr. Rubidge specializes in treating patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar mood disorder, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, ADHD and OCD. Dr. Rubidge uses a holistic and evidence-based approach to treating psychiatric disorders which include both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. He believes in a multidisciplinary approach to treatment and care, which includes working collaboratively with patients and their families.
