Moustapha Hamdi was born in Syria. He was graduated from medical school of Damascus University. He did his training in general and plastic surgery in Brussels, Glasgow and Atlanta. He has worked as a Professor in Ghent University for 10 years. Currently, he is the head of the department of Plastic- and Reconstructive Surgery at the University Clinic of Brussels. He is also Leading Surgeon at the Delta Hospital - Chirec Group.Prof. Hamdi is an international speaker and organizer of many meetings and courses in Breast Surgery. His major expertise is breast reconstruction, mainly with perforator flaps and he has also contributed in the edition of many books and many chapters concerning Aesthetic Breast Surgery. He is the former president of the Royal Belgian Society for Plastic Surgery (RBSPS), a member of the Belgian Board of Plastic Surgery and he is an expert member of the high council of Ministry of health in Belgium.
