Dr. Bassil Khalil Al Zamkan

Dr. Bassil Khalil Al Zamkan has a rich experience of more than 31 years as a Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon. He has worked in renowned hospitals across Germany and the UAE. In his career, he has performed more than 4500 surgeries, and more than 3000 interventions using a heart-lung machine, covering the whole spectrum in cardiac and thoracic surgery, including interventions in MIDCAB, OPCAB, and minimally-invasive aortic surgery. Also, he has successfully managed about 750 cases in thoracic & lung, and more than 900 cases on the blood vessels and pacemaker operations.Dr. Al Zamkan’s expertise encompasses a broad range of cardiac, thoracic and great vessel surgical procedures, with particular emphasis on aortic root and arch surgeries, as well as specialized procedures in thoracic oncology involving the lung and mediastinum. Additionally, in the academic domain, Dr. Al Zamkan’s scholarly inclination has made him a respected lecturer at leading medical institutions. He also has many research publications in his name in the Asian Cardiovascular and Thoracic Annals, as well as the European Heart Journal. He is an active member and organizer in the world-renowned International Congress of Update in Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery. Furthermore, Dr. Bassil has received many national and international awards. He is an active council member of the Cardiovascular Surgery of the Asian Heart Society.
