Dr. Azzam Fayyad

Dr. Azzam Fayyad is the Head of the Orthopedic Department at Medcare Orthopedics & Spine Hospital. He began his medical training as a German Facharzt (Consultant) in Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery at the Medical Association of the North Rhine Region, Düsseldorf, Germany. Dr. Fayyad has since earned multiple diplomas in sports medicine, chiropractic and manual medicine, diagnostic radiology, and ultrasound, and he is a licensed physician from the General Medical Council of Saarland, Saarbrücken, Germany.Dr. Fayyad has a wealth of experience as a consultant in Sports Medicine, Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgery at the Academic Teaching Hospital of the University of Düsseldorf. He also completed his residency at Marien Hospital Wesel, Elisabeth Klinik Olsberg-Bigge, and St. Bernhard Hospital Kamp-Lintfort, all in Germany.Specializing as a sports medicine surgeon, Dr. Fayyad has extensive experience in shoulder joint arthroscopy, including subacromial decompression, rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilization, arthroscopic Bankart repair, superior capsule reconstruction, acromioclavicular joint stabilization, and suprascapular nerve release. He is also skilled in shoulder joint replacement (arthroplasty). His expertise extends to arthroscopic knee surgeries, including ligament reconstruction, meniscal repair, ACL and PCL reconstruction, multi-ligament surgery, microfracture, osteochondral autograft transfer system (OATS), revision ACL reconstruction, and the treatment of patellar instability.In addition to his focus on joint replacement, Dr. Fayyad is highly experienced in revision arthroplasty for the hip, knee, and shoulder joints. He also specializes in hip arthroscopy, labral repair, and arthroscopic resection of CAM and pincer deformities associated with femoroacetabular impingement. Dr. Fayyad performs osteotomies around the knee and hip joints, including distal femur and proximal tibia osteotomies.Dr. Fayyad’s expertise also covers foot surgery, including treatment of hallux valgus, hallux rigidus, hammer toe, claw toe, and metatarsalgia, along with traumatology, fractures, and muscle ligament injuries. He is skilled in conservative orthopaedic and manual medicine and also utilizes regenerative medicine techniques, such as platelet-rich plasma and stem cell treatments for knee, shoulder, and hip joints. Additionally, Dr. Fayyad performs trauma surgery for both adult and pediatric cases.He is an active member of the German Association of Traumatology (DGU), German Association of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery (DGOU), and German Association of Sports Medicine (DGSM). In his free time, Dr. Fayyad enjoys reading, swimming, fishing, and traveling. He speaks Arabic, English, and German fluently.
