He started his career as a Consultant and Assistant Professor and Head of Surgical Gastroenterology at one of the most prestigious teaching hospitals in India—DAYANAND MEDICAL COLLEGE & HOSPITAL, after which he continued his journey as a Senior Consultant and Head of GI & HPB Surgery in his subsequent job—SPS APOLLO HOSPITALS --here he established ADVANCED LAPAROSCOPIC DIGESTIVE SURGERY PROGRAMME & did first successful LIVING DONOR LIVER TRANSPLANTATION in NORTH INDIA.After 20 years of GI SURGERY PRACTICE, he became one of the first LICENSED CONSULTANTS of GASTROINTESTINAL SURGEON in UAE.He has performed over 12,000 routine and advanced laparoscopic digestive system surgeries. He has to his credit 300 plus WHIPPLE” S, 150 plus GASTRIC AND ESOPHAGEAL resections, over 1500 COLORECTAL operations, and more. He is a pioneer digestive and laparoscopic surgeon and has performed over 1500 bariatric procedures. He has a keen interest in perianal diseases and complex hernias.
