Dr. Adriana Rotundo

Dr. Adriana Rotundo is a Specialist in Bariatric and General Surgery at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. She completed her MBBS and MD from the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro, Italy. She acquired a Specialist Training in General Surgery equivalent to a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) from the University La Sapienza in Rome, Italy. Subsequently, she completed a Bariatric Fellowship from The University College Hospital, UK which is recognised by the Royal College of Surgeons and another Ethicon Bariatric Fellowship at the Bariatric Unit, University College Hospital, London, UK. She is a member of the International Bariatric Club (IBC) in the Middle East, the Emirates Medical Association (EMA), and the Emirates Surgical Metabolic and Bariatric Society (ESMBS).In the early days of her career, Dr. Rotundo worked as a Registrar in Breast and Endocrine at the Hospital at the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro in Italy. As part of her surgical rotation in Colorectal, Endocrine and HPB Surgery, she gained invaluable experience in the Department of Laparoscopic Surgery and New Technologies at the University Hospital “La Sapienza” in Rome, Italy. She spent some time as a Visiting Registrar to the UGI Unit and Locum Registrar Surgical Emergency Unit at John Radcliffe Hospital, followed by a Senior Fellowship at the UGI Surgery Oesophagogastric Unit, Churchill Hospital, both in Oxford, UK. In Essex, UK she first worked s a Senior Fellow at the UGI Surgery, UGI Unit, Broomfield Hospital and as a Specialty Doctor in UGI Surgery in the Broomfield Hospital at Chelmsford. She also worked as a Consultant in Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery with a special interest in Oesophagogastric cancer at the Royal Stoke University Hospital City General, Newcastle Road, Stoke-on-Trent. Subsequently, she relocated to the UAE, where she first worked as a Consultant in Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery at Seha Emirates Hospital and then at Reem Hospital.
