Without period can we start IVF process?

My wife has irregular period. She does not have period for 50 days. She has been advised with 8days ocp. After 5days of completing ocp, clinic is asking us to start ivf process thoug period is not started yet. What should we do now? Should we wait for period or we should follow clinic's advise? Without period can anyone start IVF cycle ?
