Swollen legs while Pregnancy

Greetings.
My wife (26) is into 6th Months of her first pregnancy and she is suffering of swollen legs off late sometime making it difficult for her to walk. Is it abnormal, What could be the reason behind it. What precautions she must take and what are some ways to avoid, Subside or if possible cure it.
