I can understand your concern.
What i do not understand however is how are you having fever only in the neck.
Do you mean there is a local rise in temperature near the swelling?
It may not be anything serious. It could be a lymph node enlargement or some other swelling which needs to be examined to comment.
My advise would be that you consult a general surgeon in person for further evaluation and management.
