Prolonged Fever
My mother has been suffering from prolonged fever, with the temperature being in the range of 99-101 degree Celsius. Her body temperature was measured to be 99 degree Celcius on 06 March 2016and has been around that to this day ie: 07 April 2016. For the first two weeks, we gave her the medicine prescribed by our family doctor Dr.Baldev Chabra, an MD medicine. The DOLO-500 was ineffective, as the temperature would be high even after taking it. Then we referred to another doctor: Dr. Jaideep Chugh(Fortis Hospital) who prescribed Calpol and a number of diagnostic tests. The reports of all tests came normal( CAT scans for chest and abdomen, Blood tests, Blood culture, ). On looking at the reports, he talked about the possibility of Sarcodiaoses and inflamation in the lymph nodes of the chest after looking at the reports. He even said that usually in cases like these, taking only a normal paracaetamol cures patients. We've been doing that for a week now, but the fever has still persisted.

Hello, I understand your feeling and your concern towards your mother is appreciable. If the above scenario is a case of sarcodoidosis then the I must tell you this one of the granulomatous condition where the inflammation is seen all along the until the antigen is removed from the body. There would be formation as ball in and around lungs in lymph nodes. So you need to.continue till your mother develops immunity to it. Thank you
