Pain due to crutches
My friend had an accident while playing football. His left leg got injured. So he had been advised to use underarm crutches if he needed to go somewhere. He used it for about a week and reported that his upper body used to pain. So is this thing normal. I mean does everyone using crutches has this kind of pain? Is there an alternative for this? Is there any crutch that doesn't require the upper body to carry the weight?

Hello there. I can understand your concern. .it's normal to have pains because the pressure of the body falls on the underarms. Soft padded crutches would help. Get it checked out by a orthopedician in person for further evaluation and management. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain. Bangalore.
