Normal NT scan report
I'm 10weeks pregnant. Doctor suggested me to take NT scan after starting of 11th week. She said if the report was not normal, then we have to go for stitches. What does this mean? I'm so much worried about stitches. Is it painful? What is the normal NT report to avoid stitches? Please help me.

Nuchal Translucency scan(NT scan) looks and measures the thickness of your baby’s nuchal fold, a fold of skin on the back of your baby’s neck. Increased thickness might indicate a chromosomal abnormality, but it doesn’t tell you that your baby definitely has, or doesn’t have, an abnormality. The results will tell you if your baby is at high risk or low risk of chromosomal abnormality in comparison to the general population, further investigations would be required to confirm any chromosomal abnormality. As for the treatment plan i believe you may misunderstood or misheard your consultant's advice.
