Dr. I have experiencing delay in periods since last 10yrs due to which I guess I am gaining weight. I have constipation as well. I have tried everything yoga diet exercise. I hit gym aerobics swimming for weight loss. But everytime I am experiencing weight gain am unable to loose weight.

it may occur in women who have anemia i.e low haemoglobin levels,diabetes or thyroid problems. It is also common in women with high levels of a protein called prolactin in their blood...it can be the side effects of certain drugs like oral contraceptives,antipsychotics,antiepileptics...it may be due to poly cystic ovarian disease as well... So I would suggest you to consult nearest gynecologists for detailed clinical examination and evaluation they will do the needful.

Hello, Irregular periods is caused by hormonal imbalance (like prolactin, oestrogen, progesterone,) hypothyroidism, reproductive tract infections, PCOS, anemia,fibroids, stress etc, hypothyroidism and PCOS can also increases weight. You need to be treated for that to lose weight too, please consult gynecologist. To lose weight, limiting calories is most important along with workout. Usual diet with workout increases weight. So please decrease your overall calories in a day.
