Liver shot sgot
Hi i was a heavy drinker i went for regular checkup sometimes i feel little confusion . My sgot is 94 my sgpt 153.
Do i have cirhosis or alcholic hepatitus.

Hello.... .SGPT value of 153 certainly needs to be evaluated further to find out the cause. Alcohol is one of the most important offending agent for liver, but it typically causes a rise in SGOT which is more than SGPT (SGOT/SGPT ratio is more than 2). Other causes of raise in sgpt level is viral hepatitis.. Consult general physician with report.
