Left hand thumb finger paining

Asked for Female, 25 Years

My uncle is around 40 years old and is a diabetic patient And his left thumb finger is paining continuously even after taking pills after doctor consultation it's paining a lot So one of the doctor had advice for operation Kindly guide us for what reason it's paining or any work around which reduced the pain
