Insect bite & blood clot
Some insect has bitten me on Tuesday on thigh and it started to swollen so I consulted a general physician he said nothing to worry and gave some tablet, today again it started to pain again so I used a pin to check the area and clear suddenly huge lot of blood came out and I am worried now pls advise.

So the insect bite will cause an inflammatory reaction and cause clotting of blood in the area where there is an open wound, so that there isn't a profuse bleeding. The use of the pin opened the clot and caused the bleeding, there isn't anything to worry about. Apply an ice pack over the region or compress it with a cloth so that the bleeding stops. You should take a tetanus injection if you haven't had it in 6 months as the needle which is septic can cause infection. You should apply a topical antiseptic ointment so as to control the infection. If the condition persists or worsens visit the ER at the earliest

Hello It may be a blood clot, because of the bite. You should not prick with pin, as it may cause infection. Wash the area with mild antiseptic lotion. Apply some antiseptic cream. Don't worry. If it causes more trouble, you can consult in person Good day
