My mother undergone knee surgery for fracture...she is known hypothyroidic..but we were not took thyroid test before surgery..is it important to take thyroid test before surgery?

Hello there...., As the surgery has been already conducted, there is no need of thyroid test as of now.... Hypothyroidism can’t be cured. But in almost every patient, hypothyroidism can be completely controlled.... It is treated by the synthetic thyroid hormone replacement.... Main line of management is the Levothyroxine....It is an synthetic thyroid hormone T4.... Dosage determination will take some time... Till then you should be in a regular follow up...
