Heavy Periods but stays only 2days

Asked for Female, 25 Years

Since sexually active I have been having heavy periods which lasts only 2days, I get slight abdomen pain and have gained weight (I have taken contraceptives), any advice on if this is serious and why this could be happening? (will consult a gynaecologist soon)
