Total knee replacement is the best option for knee pain due to worn out cartilage at this point of time. Although other options like stem cells and prp are available their still in the experimental stage and do not guarantee good result. Total knee replacement is however a time tested procedure with very good results. However it is important to get it done for the right reason that is pain relief. If you feel your quality of life has gone down because of pain and you are taking pain medication on a regular basis, please consider the surgery, it will benefit you.
