Blood donation
I donated 1 unit(450ml) of blood yesterday as my relative needed it to undergo an operation. I donated for the first time. I just want to know how much time will my body take to recover the blood which has been donated. Can i resume exercise from today as doctor told me not to lift heavy weight till 2 days. What additional diet should i take ?

Hello... Don't worry too much about , it's human body contains around 4-5 litres of blood, they just drew 450 ml.. Drink water well... Plasma replacement takes place within 24 hours.. Red cell take 4 to 5 weeks for replacement. Plasma replacement is sufficient for exercise ... You did good job by donating blood.
