Lateral malleolus undisplaced fracture Get an fibreglass plaster applied after swelling has gone. No weight bearing for 1 month. Get your x-rays done after 1 week of plaster application to see if it has displaced or its in place. Air boot are just going to cost you more.

If you ask me the best for this fracture, then it would be a screw fixation, as lateral collateral ligament is attached to this fragment. But if you want a conservative management, then AIRCAST/AIRBOOT will give similar results as a fibre cast.

Is there pain in the front of the ankle. I would prefer to get x-rays in standing position of this leg as well as the other. It seems more than a simple fracture. If there is separation between the two bones of the leg in the standing view, it could need surgery as well. So air cast is definitely out of the picture.

It's a distal fibula fracture, I'll suggest don't take chance and get a fibreglass cast done which is strong, fit light weight and water proof As if this displaces ,you'll need a surgery.
