No need to avoid any foods and drinks after two days.  Warm water gargles with Betadine and salt are good.  So is ice application.  U can brush effectively both the sides. Do mouth opening exercises for a full opening.  Don't worry about pain.  It's caused by inflammation and spasm of muscles which have to be opened. Have relaxing hot water baths,  no problem.  God bless u

Hello, you can start brushing on both sides ... gargle after every meal to keep area clean .. start with warm water gargles with salt for faster recovery .. 2-3 times daily.. after each session of warm water rinses .. open your mouth to the fullest .. even try to open if it hurts a bit.... start chewing on both sides .. these things will help your muscles to relax and improve jaw opening ... hot beverages r ok .. even hot bath ... no need for hot compresses
