After the age of 6 months, breastmilk alone is no longer sufficient to provide adequate nutrition to the child and complementary feeding must begin soon after completion of 6months. Start with mashed foods or thick porridges 3 meals along with breastfeeding. By 9 months you can offer finely chopped foods and by 1 year staple family foods.
Introduction of complementary feeding around 6months is ideal or sensitive period.
