Weird OCD themes

2024-01-17 10:07:09
I have been undergoing treatment( fluoxetine ) for my ocd and anxiety since 4 years and I have improved alot , but my OCD still comes up with different themes . First time my OCD started with the thought that if I had a crush before marriage , it means I am cheating my going to be hubby . I shared this thought with my going to be hubby also and he said that crushes and all are common . This thing got resolved and it's been 6 years to our marriage now but lately one OCD theme has been bothering me again . During intimacy I dunno why the name of that crush suddenly popped up in my mind , and I was shocked as to why did this happen ? I didn't speak but only a thought came up and I have been feeling super guilty since then . Me and my hubby love each other truly and I can never even think of cheating him . I never had any relationships in the past . The guy I loved for the first time is my hubby only . What should I do about this guilt ? Please help .

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through a challenging time. It's important to recognize that therapy can be very effective in addressing these intrusive thoughts and managing guilt. Considering your progress with fluoxetine, engaging in therapy, like we provided at Mind Sculpt, could offer valuable support. Discussing your feelings and guilt in therapy can give you with an outlet to explore and resolve these concerns. OCD can sometimes bring back old themes, and seeking help to navigate through these thoughts can allow you to learn ways to deal with it even in future. Your commitment to your relationship is evident, and therapy can empower you with tools to manage these challenges effectively and move forward with greater peace of mind.
