Weezing sound after feeding
Hello,
My kid is 7days old and every time we feed her she does wee-zing sounds after the feed. Is this normal in 1week old baby or this is point of concern as we went to dr and they said that lungs are clear. But not sure what should be the next step for us as a new 1st time parent.

This is a common problem due to narrow airways ( Laryngomalacia). Size of airways increases with age and the sound will go away in a few months. Looks like that. If weight is ok and baby is ok on check up and no breathing difficulty, nothing to worry about. Please take a second opinion by visiting a pediatrician

In many newborns, mild noisy breathing or “wheezing-like” sounds after feeds can happen due to milk pooling in the throat, nasal congestion, reflux, or immature airway coordination. If your pediatrician has examined the baby and lungs are clear, it is reassuring.

However, observe closely for warning signs such as:
• Fast breathing
• Chest pulling in
• Bluish lips
• Choking/coughing during every feed
• Poor feeding
• Fever
• Baby becoming unusually sleepy

• Feed in a slightly upright position

• Burp well after feeds
• Keep baby upright for 20–30 minutes after feeding
• Ensure nose is not blocked
