Vortioxetine for Long time impairment

2026-01-27 19:12:17
I have suffered this from last 10 years long-standing cognitive issues (poor attention/encoding, immediate forgetting; not dementia). Does this fit functional cognitive impairment? Can vortioxetine meaningfully help cognition here? to what percent? Are there any better meds available? Is it untreatable?

Hey, i understand your concern, but first we need to have more history since when forgetting and memory issues started, we can't just diagnose it as cognitive impairment, Please consult the psychiatrist, and then we can decide accordingly what exactly you need. Do you even need medications or not, will be decided based on history only.

There is no percentage improvements with medications. Vortioxetine is not a primary cognitive enhancer, rather an antidepressant, newer one. Psychiatry does not work like math. For someone a medication can produce tremendous improvement, for other with same condition they may not act at all.

First of all you need proper examination of your cognitive impairment..because vortioxetine is anti depressant drug that can treat congnitive issues like memory impairment only due to depressive symptoms(pseudodementia)
Next Steps
You need psychiatrist consultation to clear your query.
